According to Technavio, the Global Smart Shades Market is expected to grow from $162 million in 2019 to $1.47 billion in 2024, a CAGR of 55.6%. Of this, $247 million will come from new installations, while $1.22 billion will come from retrofits and replacements.

Both the commercial and residential markets are rapidly growing, both of which RYSE is tapping into.

3) RYSE is Helping The Planet

Did you know automated shades can prevent $35B in energy loss annually? Here’s how installing RYSE products can be good for you and the planet:

  • Automatically closing shades can reduce solar heat gain and reduce indoor cooling needs. Thus, you can save energy by running the AC less. 
  • Automatically opening shades can capture natural daylight, reduce indoor artificial lighting usage, and thus reduce energy consumption. 

Needless to say, the more you save energy, the less impact you make on the energy grid, and the more you save on expenses.

We are serving a need in the market, particular for commercial real estate, where under the ‘Green New Deal’ mandates that all new buildings must be net-zero by 2030, and all existing buildings have to be net-zero by 2050, with specific GHG (green house gas) emission reduction targets throughout this period. It is an active movement where cities, and countries around the world are trying to reduce energy consumption and greenhouse gas emissions. RYSE is ready for that.

RYSE has had a meteoric start since I first wanted to upgrade my shades in my Toronto condo. He invented the first generation, built it from scratch and made sure it was protected.

A lot of hardware and smart-ware sellers can take a product, break it down, reverse engineer it and come up with a way to spin off their own. Not with us. All of RYSE patents and IPs are fully defensible and we’ve even had a court judgement that allowed us to remove any copycats off of Amazon immediately.

The second generation of RYSE SmartShade was designed with the intention of lowering production costs. We were able to lower costs while increasing performance and robustness; it’s faster, stronger, and quieter at half the price. Now, we’re introducing the products we want to scale and become known for.

Our long term plan is to make RYSE a household name then have a successful exit to a larger player in the space.

We think users will love how this improves their sense of security and control, their mood and productivity, their environment and their costs, while improving the overall global environment. Plus, it meets mandates for new buildings so we have plans to partner with growth industries like hospitality, senior living, and new office space as well.

RYSE has grown to 18 full-time employees, pulling in 4 million in online sales, and having shipped over 25,000 devices to-date. With our second generation device, the RYSE SmartShade, on the horizon, we have plans in place to expand into big box retailers very soon!
