How is Gear ADA compliant?

AXIS Gear is ADA compliant because it turns standard manual shades into motorized shades. It allows your guest’s to operate their shades with the light touch of a finger on Gear’s on-device controls, from the comfort of their smartphone, or not at all with Gear’s scheduling features.Specifically, Gear adheres to Section 4.27.4 of the ADA document which states: “Controls and operating mechanisms shall be operable with one hand and shall not require tight grasping, pinching, or twisting of the wrist. The forces required to activate controls shall be no greater than 5 lbf (22.2 N).”

How is Gear powered?

There are two ways that Gear can be powered:

1 – Solar Panel

Gear’s internal battery is continuously recharged via a slim solar panel that fits discreetly on your window. Inside the solar panel are 12 AA batteries that act as backup power.

2 – Wall Plug

Gear ships with a standard US wall plug with a 10 foot cable.

Will we need software?

No. Gear can be operated and set up all from the on-device controls.However, the complementary AXIS app can be used for advanced features such as mobile control, scheduling, device management and more.

Does Gear require a remote?

No. Gear can be operated via it’s on-device controls or via the complementary AXIS app.

How long does it take for orders to arrive?

Orders typically arrive within 5 – 7 business days. However, expedited shipping options are available to facilitate your project’s needs.

Is there a discount for bulk purchases?
